Dashboard Data: Understanding and Troubleshooting What You See
How Safety Mojo calculates dashboard data, why numbers might look wrong, and how to report discrepancies.
How dashboard data is calculated
Safety Mojo dashboards pull data from submitted forms within the date range and filters you've applied. The totals you see reflect:
- Only fully submitted forms — drafts are not counted.
- Only data from projects and divisions your profile has access to.
- The date range set by the date filter — the default range may not include the most recent submissions if it hasn't been updated.
|
TIP If your dashboard numbers don't look right, the first thing to check is your date range filter. A cutoff end date is a very common cause of apparently missing recent data. |
Common dashboard issues
KPI numbers don't match what you'd expect
- Check the date range filter — make sure it covers the period you're looking at.
- Check your project and division filters — narrow filters may be excluding some submissions.
- Try clearing all filters and reapplying them one at a time.
- Log out and back in, then reload the dashboard.
- If the number is still wrong, compare it against the raw submissions list to identify specific records that are missing or incorrectly counted.
|
NOTE If you're manually counting observations or incidents because the dashboard can't be trusted, please contact support and provide the specific discrepancy with dates and expected vs. actual counts. This is actively tracked as an engineering issue. |
Missing data for a specific date range
If submissions you know were made aren't appearing on the dashboard:
- Verify the submissions exist by going to the form's list view directly and confirming the records are there.
- Check whether the data appears on the web version but not the app, or vice versa.
- If records exist in the form list but don't appear on the dashboard, contact support with the specific dates, form name, and account name.
Dashboard shows an error when drilling into a container
If clicking on a dashboard widget returns an error instead of a detail view, try refreshing the page. If the error is persistent, report it to support with the dashboard name and which container is failing.
My Day dashboard not updating after approvals
The "My Day" dashboard should update to reflect PTP approvals shortly after they're completed. If it continues showing items as needing approval hours after they've been approved:
- Log out and back in to force a refresh.
- Check the List View for the same forms — if the List View shows them as approved but My Day doesn't, this is a display sync issue. Report it to support.
Observation Scorecard showing duplicate companies
If the Observation Scorecard dashboard is showing the same company listed twice, there are likely two separate company entries in the system. Contact support with the account name and the company name showing as a duplicate.
Requesting a new dashboard or modifying an existing one
Dashboard configurations (adding metrics, changing date ranges, adding new dashboards) are managed by the Safety Mojo team. To request a change:
- Email support@getmojo.ai with the account name, the dashboard name, and a description of what you need added or changed.
- For new dashboards, describe the data you want to see and the time period it should cover.
Need help?
When reporting a dashboard issue, include the dashboard name, account name, the date range you're viewing, the number you're seeing, and what you expected to see. A screenshot is especially useful for display errors.
